Brian Maisonneuve (born June 28, 1973 in Warren , Michigan) is a former American football player who played in defensive midfield for the Columbus Crew in Major League Soccer (MLS) .

Maisonneuve played football from childhood. At Indiana University, he became an important leader and scored many goals for his team.

Since 1996 he has been playing for Columbus Crew , in the MLS. So far, he has played 189 professional games for the club and scored 23 goals.

In 1996 he played for the USA at the Summer Olympics. A short time later he became a national team player.

He took part in the 1998 World Cup and played 13 international matches for the United States. Prior to the 2000 season, he suffered a series of ankle injuries that forced him to skip the season and set him far behind in his career.
