Warren is the largest city in Macomb County in Michigan , United States . The city has 138,247 inhabitants, making it the largest suburb of the Detroit metropolitan area . The area of the city is 88.9 km² (0.1 km² of water). 1557 people live in one square kilometer. The city center line is completely enclosed by Warren.
Population development
Warren, like the entire metropolitan region, is strongly influenced by the US automotive industry, and its development can be seen almost exemplary in the development of the population. The boom years in the 1920s and 1930s, after Henry Ford revolutionized manufacturing with production on the assembly line, was followed by growth into the 1970s, when automobile production in the USA for the first time due to the first oil crisis and increasing competition, especially from Japan was declining.
