Brian Probyn
Brian P. Probyn (born November 30, 1920 in London-Lambeth , United Kingdom , † November 25, 1982 in Sydney , Australia ) was a British cameraman .
Live and act
After years as a camera assistant and simple cameraman, Probyn rose to head cameraman in the early 1960s. His first employer was the BBC . In the following years Probyn shot a number of short films and less important entertainment films, but also a few, artistically ambitious A-production such as Ken Loach's slum drama " Poor Cow " and Terrence Malick's outsider, road and gangster movie " Badlands - Zerschossene Träume " . At the beginning of 1969 Probyn was the cameraman for the American skier film " Schußfahrt " with Robert Redford .
In 1973 Probyn settled in Sydney, Australia. There he continued his work as head cameraman and also worked as a lecturer for camera work at the Australian Film & TV School.
