Brice pause
Brice Pauset (* 1965 in Besançon ) is a French composer.
Life
Brice Pauset received music lessons from childhood, he learned the piano from the age of five and the violin from the age of eight. He first studied piano, violin , harpsichord , chamber music , pedagogy, harmony and counterpoint at the Conservatoire National de Région de Besançon from 1975–1984 . Composition studies followed, 1984–1985 initially at the Conservatoire national de région de Boulogne-Billancourt . At the same time, he studied philosophy in Paris (Sorbonne) and Leuwen ( Katholieke Universiteit Leuven ), which he completed in 1986 with a doctorate in philosophy with cum laude . In other composition courses and studies he met teachers such as Michel Philippot and Gérard Grisey , Franco Donatoni , Alain Bancquart , Henri Dutilleux , Brian Ferneyhough and Michael Jarrell . Brice Pauset has been professor of composition at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg since 2008 . Pauset composes chamber music, orchestral works and musical theater. His works are published by the French Edition Henry Lemoine, since 2014 with the Berlin publisher Edition Gravis .
