Bridgnorth was a district in Shropshire in England . The administrative seat was the city of the same name Bridgnorth . The district also included the towns of Albrighton , Broseley , Much Wenlock and Shifnal .
The district was formed on April 1, 1974 and was the result of the merger of the Bridgnorth Rural District and almost the entire Shifnal Rural District. On April 1, 2009 it was dissolved due to a territorial and administrative reform and went on in the new Shropshire Unitary Authority .
