Brigitta Schmidt-Lauber

Brigitta Schmidt-Lauber (born February 25, 1965 in Kiel ) is a German ethnologist .

life and work

She studied folklore, ethnology and social and economic history in Hamburg and Cologne . After completing her doctorate in 1997 and habilitation in 2003 in Hamburg, she became a professor at the University of Göttingen in 2006 . Since 2009 she has been teaching as a university professor at the University of Vienna .

Her main research interests are urban research in cultural studies, ethnographic methods, regional cultural analysis, ethnicity and migration, popular cultures, the history of science and science.
