Brilliant APS
Brillant APS is the name of the official match ball of the Bundesliga for the season 2018/19 . The ball from the sporting goods manufacturer Derbystar is the successor to the Torfabrik game ball from Adidas .

For the 2018/19 season, the ball manufactured and sold by Derbystar with the name Brillant APS will officially be the uniform match ball of the German Bundesliga. It is the first time that a uniform match ball is used in the first and second Bundesliga that is not manufactured by Adidas . The four-year contract with Derbystar is intended to generate a total of 25 million euros more income for the 36 Bundesliga clubs.
The letters APS stand for Advance Performance System . The 32 fields - 20 hexagons and 12 pentagons - are sewn with 630 double stitches and 60 corner stitches. The ball has an upper material that has a golf ball structure over the entire surface. A so-called "zero-wing bladder" made of natural latex was developed in order to manufacture and maintain the bladder and thus the ball as round as possible. For games on a snow-covered playing field, an orange version called Brillant Aps Winter should be used.
