Britannia secunda

The Britannia secunda was a province of the Roman Empire in what is now Great Britain . It was created in the first half of the 4th century AD under Emperor Diocletian by dividing the province of Britannia inferior . The capital of Britannia secunda was Eboracum , today's York . Their territory included northern England and probably also North Wales . In 369 the province of Valentia with the capital Luguvallium ( Carlisle ) was detached from its territory.
