Britta Backlund (born March 7, 1996 ) is a Swedish speed skier .

biography

Backlund comes from Dalarna County and is part of the Rättvik ski club . She came to speed skiing through her older brother Erik Backlund , who also competes in the Speed Ski World Cup .

In 2012 she took part in a World Cup event for the first time and was already able to win the SDH Junior rating this season. Just two years later she took part in two World Cups in the classic S1 class and was able to classify here in 4th and 5th place. Nevertheless, she initially focused on the SDH classes and was twice world champion in this.

After her complete switch to the S1 class, she quickly achieved success here too. So she collected podium places and just missed the podium at the 2017 World Cup . In the 2019 season , in addition to the overall World Cup , she also won the World Championship title on the world record slope Chabrière in Vars ( France ).
