Rättvik is a place ( Tatort ) in the Swedish province of Dalarnas län and the historical province of Dalarna .

The place is located on the eastern shore of Lake Siljan and is the main town of the municipality of the same name .

Rättvik is a tourist town . Rättvik Church dates from the 13th century but was rebuilt in the 18th century. There are around 100 church huts and stables near the church , some of them from the 17th century. Even today people row in traditional church boats to Sunday mass in summer.

The landing stage, from which the excursion steamer and church boats depart for midsummer, is 625 m long. It was built in 1895.

The place is known for its lively folk culture, especially folk music ( spelmansmusik ). Several festivals are held in the summer, including Musik vid Siljan and Rättviksdansen .

In addition, the Classic Car Week Festival takes place in Rättvik - one of the two largest automobile festivals known across national borders, which brings between 25,000 and 30,000 automobile enthusiasts as well as technology and nostalgia fans to Rättvik every day during the event week (always around the 31st calendar week ) lures.

The Rättvik sacrificial stone is about 3 km south of the village.

Rättvik also has a trotting track.

Rättvik has a train station on the Rättvik – Borlänge railway line , which is now called Dalabanan ( Mora – Uppsala railway line ) after it was named by Banverket in 1990 .
