The municipality of Rättvik extends inland from Dalarna from Lake Siljan about 80 kilometers (as the crow flies) to the north.

20 kilometers north of Rättvik is the Styggforsen waterfall, which is 35 meters high. He was one of the locations in Ingmar Bergman's film Jungfrukällan (Eng. The source of the virgin ).
