Coordinates: 60 ° 9 ′  N , 15 ° 11 ′  O Ludvika is a municipality ( Swedish commun ) in the Swedish province of Dalarna County and the historical province of Dalarna . The main town of the municipality is Ludvika .

Lake Väsman and Brittas hål bog are in the municipality ; near the village of Saxdalen is the mountain Saxberget , where Långfallsgruvan , a sulphide ore mine , is located.

The social democratic party Sveriges socialdemokratiska arbetareparti has the most seats in the Ludvica municipal council. The second strongest party is the Moderate Party with ten seats on the municipal council .

Mayor is Maria Pettersson (Socialdemokraterna).
