Bronson Maschmeyer (born April 29, 1991 in Bruderheim , Alberta ) is a Canadian - German ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with the Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven from the German Ice Hockey League (DEL).
Career
As a teenager, Maschmeyer played for St. Albert Steel in the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) and then in the Western Hockey League (WHL), first for the Vancouver Giants , then three years for the Kamloops Blazers from the 2009/10 season . He completed a total of 264 WHL games in four years.
Between 2012 and 2016 Maschmeyer played for the ice hockey team of St. Francis Xavier University and scored twelve hits and 32 assists in 109 appearances for the "X-Men". At the beginning of April 2016 he signed his first professional contract with the Fischtown Pinguins . At that time, the Bremerhaven team was still in the second division, but was awarded a license for the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) in June 2016 . With the Bremerhaveners he reached the DEL play-offs in 2017 and 2018, after the end of the 2017/18 game year there was a separation.

His great-grandfather came from Germany and emigrated to North America: He came to Canada via the stations in New York and Nebraska.
Maschmeyer is the second oldest of five siblings and grew up on a farm near Bruderheim in the Canadian province of Alberta . His sister Emerance was named the tournament's best goalkeeper at the 2016 World Cup . His other siblings, the Brock and Kache brothers and sister Brittaney, also play ice hockey. Brittaney played for the ZSC Lions women's team in Switzerland in the 2014/15 season .
