Brock Maschmeyer (born July 31, 1992 in Bruderheim , Alberta ) is a German - Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Heilbronner Falken in the DEL2 since May 2018 .
Career
Maschmeyer played for clubs in the leagues AMBHL (Fort Saskatchewan Rangers), AJHL (Lloydminster Bobcats, Fort McMurray Oil Barons) and BCHL (Nanaimo Clippers). Between 2013 and 2017 he studied and played at Northern Michigan University in the USA.
At the end of May 2017 he signed his first professional contract with the Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven from the German Ice Hockey League and was to become a teammate of his brother Bronson , who had switched to the DEL club a year earlier. In mid-November 2017, Maschmeyer switched to the DEL2 with the Eispiraten Crimmitschau as part of a loan agreement .
In mid-May 2018, Maschmeyer was signed by the Heilbronner Falken (DEL2).
family
Maschmeyer's great-grandfather once emigrated to North America and settled in Canada after stints in New York and Nebraska.
Brock Maschmeyer has five siblings and grew up on a farm near Bruderheim in the Canadian province of Alberta . His brother Bronson is also a professional ice hockey player, both played together in Bremerhaven. His sister Emerance was named the tournament's best goalkeeper at the 2016 World Cup . His sister Brittaney played for the ZSC Lions women's team in Switzerland in the 2014/15 season .
