Timothy J. "Tim" Miller (born March 6, 1987 in Davisburg , Michigan ) is a German-American ice hockey player who is used as a winger. Miller has German ancestry and is a German citizen. He has been under contract with the Heilbronner Falken since summer 2019 .
career
Miller began playing ice hockey at the age of four. As a youth he played for the Birmingham Rangers, Little Caesar's, Compuware and later for the Omaha Lancers in the United States Hockey League , before moving to the University of Michigan in 2005 . There he completed a full college career, four years in which he had 166 appearances and scored 25 goals and 52 assists.
Shortly after the end of his university days, he signed with Syracuse Crunch from the American Hockey League (AHL) in April 2009 . There he was used in one game until the end of the 2009/10 season. The following season Miller stayed in Syracuse, but jumped during the season between the AHL team and the partner team Gwinnett Gladiators from the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) back and forth. In the 2010/11 season he then played for the Gladiators and for the AHL representative Chicago Wolves . Miller then stayed with the Wolves until November 2013, when he was transferred to AHL competitor Springfield Falcons . In that 2013/14 season, further team changes followed: In January 2014, he was awarded by the Falcons to the ECHL club Evansville IceMen , just a few weeks later Miller landed again in the AHL, this time at San Antonio Rampage , and in March to Abbotsford Heat (AHL) to switch.
After playing as a professional for seven clubs in his six seasons so far, he decided to make another change and accepted an offer from the German second division club Fischtown Pinguins from Bremerhaven, who signed him in November 2014. After two seasons in Bremerhaven, he moved to the Straubing Tigers in the highest German ice hockey league (DEL) in May 2016 . At the end of October 2017 he was signed by the Dresdner Eislöwen (DEL2) and switched to the Krefeld Pinguinen in the DEL on November 10, 2017 .
During the summer break of 2019 Miller accepted an offer from the Heilbronner Falken (DEL2).
