Marco Schütz (born February 19, 1985 in Villingen-Schwenningen ) is a former German ice hockey player who was active for many years in the two highest German leagues, especially for the Heilbronner Falken , Schwenninger Wild Wings and the Adler Mannheim .

Player career

The 1.78 m tall defender began his career with the young eagles Mannheim in the German junior league , in 2002/03 he completed his first DEL appearances for the Wild Wings. After three years with DEL record champions Adler Mannheim and their farm team , the Heilbronner Falken , Schütz returned to Schwenningen, where he played in the 2nd Bundesliga for two years. In the 2006/07 season , Schütz also completed two DEL games for the Augsburg Panthers .

From 2008 to 2011, the defender was part of the Heilbronner Falken squad before signing a contract with the Eispiraten Crimmitschau for the 2011/12 season . For the following 2012/13 season , the defender moved to the reigning second division champions, the Landshut Cannibals . After a season with the Bietigheim Steelers (2013/14), Schütz landed at EC Bad Nauheim . There he forms the second row with Max Campbell , Matt Beca , Kyle Helms and Maik Blankart .

In June 2015 he returned to the Falcons and was part of the regular squad there for two years, but had to contend with injuries. In 2017 Schütz ended his career and became assistant coach with the Falken.

International

Marco Schütz was on the ice for the German junior national teams at the 2003 U18 World Cup and the 2005 U20 World Cup .
