The Boughton River is a river in the east of the Australian state of Queensland .

River course

The river has its source south of Charters Towers Aboriginal Reserve , about 10 kilometers south of Charters Towers, and flows east. At the settlement of Broughton , about 25 kilometers southeast of Charters Towers, it flows into the Burdekin River .
