Bruce Bechtold
Bruce Bechtold (born March 31, 1952 in Baumholder ) is a German catamaran sailor .
Bechtold went to school in Schwenningen , Essen and Dormagen . He completed an apprenticeship as a shop window designer and advertising technician and founded a company in 1979 with Wilfried Kalinowski that produces printed circuit boards.
In 1980, while on vacation by the sea, he went to see a sailing regatta through which he found his passion for regatta sailing. The high point of his career was winning the World Championship in the Hobie Cat 17 class in Sitges (Spain) in 1996 .
