Bruce Lewis Cohen (born September 23, 1961 in Falls Church , Virginia ) is an American film director and film producer .

Life

After finishing school, Cohen started working in the film industry. Together with Dan Jinks , he founded the film production company The Jinks / Cohen Company . Jinks and Cohen produced American Beauty , which won the 2000 Academy Awards . Cohen also produced the films The Forgotten , Big Fish , To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar and Milk , which was Cohen's second film to be nominated for an Oscar. Cohen has been a blogger for The Huffington Post since May 2005 .

Cohen married his longtime partner Gabriel Catone on June 30, 2008 in Los Angeles .
