Geography and transport links
Bruchtorf is located northeast of the core town of Jelmstorf. The federal highway 4 runs southwest. The Jelmstorfer Bach flows north of the village and the Ilmenau to the east . Bruchtorf is connected to the surrounding towns by a bus line with three bus stops.
