The Bad Vilbel Fountain School is the special needs school for learning assistance of the Wetteraukreis for the cities of Bad Vilbel and Karben and their districts.
Occasionally, it also accepts children from neighboring communities. In 2011, 101 pupils attended the well school, which was taught in 10 classes from the 1st to the 11th school year and a preliminary class. The fountain school has a cross-year concept in the basic level as well as in the intermediate level.
task
As a special school for learning aid, the well school promotes, educates and teaches children who cannot be adequately supported with the resources and methods of the general school.
Advice and support center (BFZ) and joint teaching (GU)
At the beginning of the 2003/2004 school year, the fountain school was appointed by the Hessian Ministry of Education to be an advisory and support center. The BFZ focuses on pupils, their parents and teachers in general schools with different priorities. Areas of support of the advisory and support center are existing impairments of learning as well as social and emotional development. The fountain school also looks after pupils whose parents have registered the wish for joint lessons (GU).
Career orientation
As part of the career orientation , the main level students can gain initial experience in professional life and make contact with later training companies during internships, career orientation days and project examinations. The school has had eleven grades since the 2011/2012 school year. In this way, the students can prepare for the secondary school leaving certificate in two years without too much pressure .
Trialogue
Since the 2005/2006 school year, the fountain school has regularly participated in the Herbert Quandt Foundation's competition for the trialogue of cultures. All students, teachers and, in some cases, parents are involved in the Trialog campaigns throughout the year. In 2006 the school won the first prize, worth 17,000 euros.
Every year a steering group is formed with a new focus within the subject area of integration, the peaceful coexistence of cultures. Regular general assemblies and one project week each on the annual theme form the structure.
