Bruno Bansen (born October 27, 1942 in Hamburg ) is a German humorous poet.

Life

Bansen, who initially worked as a graphic designer and art director , fell ill with Parkinson's disease at the age of 45 , which forced him to stay in hospital for a longer period of time 13 years later. It was there that the 58-year-old began to write rhyming verses for the first time.

In the same year his first book What does not care about sow was published . Although this book is a comparatively thrown together collection of humor poems, it sold well for a debut work, probably also because of the title, while the soon-to-be-followed Wenn auf der Wide dir ein Gaul ... with similar texts rather flopped.

Bansen's following concept book Of Gods and Other People , which parodies almost all Greek myths, received greater attention, also from critics (including Elke Heidenreich ) . The following, exclusively about canned fish, If the cod with a cable woman, on the other hand, is certainly not a masterpiece because of the narrow topic, but paid off for the author because it was completely sponsored by a fish canning company and was sold in large numbers to delicatessen shops as a promotional gift.

After the less spectacular Meyer , which revolves around a marriage, the progressive illness forced Bansen to postpone further planned book projects. Almost finished books - one with fairy tale satires, another about the animal world - have been lying fallow since 2004.

In addition to these two books, a humorous and prosaic book about the keeping of the Beagle is to appear in the near future .

style

Some critics accuse Bansen of leaning heavily on Wilhelm Busch and above all Heinz Erhardt . Such a relationship can certainly not be dismissed out of hand, but it occurs at a high level. The choice of topics (for example About gods and other people ) also shows a high degree of originality.

Above all, Bansen's texts are very rhythmic and at times deliberately written redundantly. Rhyming stories often end in surprising slapstick.
