Bruno Buchwald

Bruno Edmund Buchwald (born November 4, 1847 in Dresden , † September 21, 1913 in Altenburg ) was a bookbinder and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Buchwald attended the Dresden Citizens' School and also received extra lessons in language and shorthand. He learned the bookbinding trade, traveled and worked in Germany, Austria and Hungary from 1867 to 1881. As a result of a strike, he was forced to set up a business in Altenburg in 1884. He was a member of the Altenburg state parliament since 1889 and city councilor for the city of Altenburg since 1903.

From 1903 to 1904 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of the Duchy of Saxony-Altenburg 1 ( Altenburg , Roda ) and the SPD . The election was declared invalid. In the replacement election on April 29, 1904, Buchwald was narrowly defeated by his conservative competitor with 49.1% of the valid votes cast.
