Bruno Frenzel

Bruno Frenzel (* 19 June 1944 ; † 21st September 1983 ) was a German rock - guitarist and composer . Frenzel was best known as the guitarist, singer and songwriter for the band Birth Control .

Life

Before joining the group Birth Control (April 1969), Bruno Frenzel played in various bands of the German beat scene at the time , including the group 'The Echos / Some Folks'. With Birth Control he became the mainstay of the band and wrote a few Pieces of the band. He remained a member of the band until his death in 1983.

His untimely death was a late result of an electric shock that he suffered while the band performed in Montreux in 1975. The heart and lungs were electrocuted; he died of it in 1983.

Instruments

Frenzel played various Gibson guitar models: an SG model, an Explorer, and a black Les Paul Custom. In 1978 he became an endorser of the Music Man company for the Saber model. He played on Fender and Marshall amplifiers and used wah-wah , chorus , flanger and Ibanez tube screamer as effect devices. Besides guitar he also played the saxophone, accordion and bass.
