Bruno Grosse

Bruno Grosse (born July 13, 1892 in Neu-Ulm , † May 18, 1976 in Heilbronn ) was a German painter .

Life

He graduated from high school in Neu-Ulm and then studied art educator at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Munich with Zügel. In the First World War he took part as an aviator. In 1926 he came to Heilbronn as an art teacher, where he initially taught art at the Realgymnasium (later Robert-Mayer-Gymnasium Heilbronn ) and after the Second World War at the Elly-Heuss-Knapp-Gymnasium Heilbronn . In 1929 he was elected chairman of the Heilbronner Künstlerbund , but from 1934 his works were considered degenerate art . In the Second World War he again took part in the Air Force. From 1951 to 1953 he was again in charge of the Heilbronn Artists' Association. In 1957 he took professional retirement.

Major artistic oeuvre includes primarily impressionist, and later expressionist landscape paintings. He participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions. Some of his works are in public ownership, including a. the oil painting Bolsena See owned by the Heilbronn Municipal Museum .
