Bruno Kirschner
Bruno Kirschner (also: Bruno Israel Kirschner ; born August 17, 1884 in Berlin ; died April 13, 1964 in Jerusalem ) was a German non-fiction author, Judaist and co-editor / co-founder of Jüdisches Lexikon , a German-language encyclopedia on Judaism that was published between 1927 and 1930 .
Kirschner was married to Paula Kirschner geb. Jochsberger (born February 8, 1885 in Berlin, died December 24, 1991 in Jerusalem). Kirschner's uncle, Emanuel Kirschner , was a well-known composer and cantor in the Munich Jewish community.
Kirschner himself had a doctorate and emigrated from Berlin to Jerusalem in 1937. After emigrating, he worked with the Leo Baeck Institute at the Germania Judaica . Postponed records and correspondence from 1955 to 1962 are kept in the Hebrew University of Jerusalem .
