Bruno Loewenberg

Bruno Löwenberg (born September 4, 1907 in Halle (Saale) ; † October 26, 1994 ) was a German Roman Catholic clergyman, liturgical scholar and pastoral theologian .

Life

Löwenberg studied theology from 1928 at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. There he received his doctorate in 1931 in Philosophy (PhD.) And received 1,934 ibid the sacrament of Holy Orders . With the dissertation The rituals of Cardinal Julius Antonius Sanctorius he received his doctorate in 1936 in Rome to Dr. theol.

From 1936 to 1946 he was a pastor in the Archbishop's Commissariat Magdeburg and from 1946 Subregens at the Archbishop's Seminary in Paderborn. Löwenberg was appointed lecturer in liturgy in 1949 at the Archbishopric Academy in Paderborn. 1952/53 he became regens of the seminary on the Huysburg near Halberstadt and finally from 1953 to 1972 professor for pastoral theology and liturgical science at the "Philosophical-Theological Studies Erfurt" (today Catholic-Theological Faculty of the University of Erfurt ).
