Bruno Schwietzke

Bruno Schwietzke (born June 21, 1896 ; † after 1938) was a German writer .

Life

Bruno Schwietzke worked in the advertising department of the Bertelsmann publishing house in Gütersloh . In addition, he published narrative works in the thirties . His greatest success was the book "... died in Flanders", which was distributed in more than 40,000 copies, about the fighting on the western front of the First World War . In 1946 Schwietzke's war books were on the " List of literature to be sorted out " in the Soviet zone of occupation . Today, for example, he is received in Dutch specialist publications as a witness to the First World War from a German perspective.
