Bruno Silva (born March 29, 1980 in Melo ; full name Bruno Ramón Silva Barone ) is a Uruguayan football player . His cousin Nicola Pérez is also a professional soccer player.

Career

society

Bruno Silva started his football career in his Uruguayan homeland with Melo Wanderers and Danubio FC . At Danubio he became a regular player in the 2002 season and recommended himself for the first time to European clubs. After winning two semi-series, Bruno Silva left his team because of the more lucrative offer from Russia and went to the first Russian league for FK Rostov .

After only six months with disappointing four appearances, Silva returned to Danbio and was able to win the Clausura 2004 and the Uruguayan championship of 2004 with his team. The defender stayed with Danubio until the middle of the next season before moving to the Dutch first division club FC Groningen . After two and a half years as a regular player, Bruno Silva went to league rivals and top club Ajax Amsterdam in January 2008 . Here, however, he only made 20 games in a season and a half. In early 2010, he went on loan to the Brazilian SC Internacional , where he spent the entire year and thus won the 2010 Copa Libertadores . After returning to Ajax during the 2010/11 winter break, he was under new coach Frank de Boer before his comeback to the squad, but suffered a serious shoulder injury during training camp that put him out of action for several months.

After a long injury break, he has been under contract with the Uruguayan first division club Cerro Largo FC since the end of December 2012 and played 11 league games (one goal) there in 2012/13. In the 2013/14 season he played 19 times in the Primera División and scored two goals. With the Eastern Uruguayans, he took on the role of team captain. At the end of the season, his club had to go into the second division. In the second division season 2014/15 he played 15 times in the Segunda División and scored two goals. During the 2015/16 season, he made 20 league appearances and three goals. In the interim season of 2016, three more second division appearances (no goal) were added.

National team

On February 4, 2003, Silva gave his debut for the Uruguayan national team with a starting eleven as part of the Carlsberg Cup in the game against Iran under national coach Gustavo Ferrín . He was also appointed to the national team under Juan Ramón Carrasco , Ferrín's successor as selection coach. After his fourth international match on August 15, 2003, in which he even led the "Celeste" as team captain to a 5-2 win in the final of the LG Peace Cup against the Iraqi national team, Silva first took a longer international break. Since the game against Turkey on May 25, 2008, he has been a regular member of the national team again. He was last used on September 9, 2009 in a 3-1 home win in the World Cup qualifier against Colombia in the A selection. He made a total of 17 international matches (no goal).
