Bruno Skalweit

Bruno Skalweit (born October 29, 1867 in Labiau ; † April 17, 1926 in Königsberg i. Pr. ) Was a German agronomist. In Königsberg he taught agricultural management.

Life

Skalweit attended the Kneiphöfsche Gymnasium . From 1888 he studied at the Agricultural University Berlin , later at the Humboldt University in Berlin agricultural sciences . In the meantime he practically worked in agriculture. It was not until 1902 that he took his exams for teaching in agriculture. A year later he was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD. In the following nine years he worked as an agricultural expert at the German Consulate General in London. Here he acquired more precise knowledge of English agriculture. In 1912 he completed his habilitation at the Albertus University in Königsberg for agricultural management , was appointed professor in 1915 and was given the chair in 1920 . Many good farmers owed him their solid training, which benefited a modern expansion of the agricultural province of East Prussia . His writings concern the English and East Prussian agricultural engineering . His book on East Prussian agriculture is the first scientific presentation of this topic.
