professional

In 1952 he started his professional career with a series of 17 victories. He suffered his first defeat in the fight for the European lightweight title against his compatriot Duilio Loi in May 1954. In late 1955 he was then Italian lightweight champion, but put the title down after only one defense to box in welterweight. In 1958 he was also national champion in this weight class.

In February 1960 he faced Duilio Loi again. Again it was about the European Championship, again Loi won on points. Visintin then switched to the light middleweight division. There he was again Italian champion in March 1963 and finally European champion in May 1964 in the third attempt. He successfully defended this title five times, including in December 1965 against the German Peter Müller , whom he defeated on points. The sixth attempt to defend the European title was his last fight. New Year 1966 he lost against Bo Högberg from Sweden by technical knockout in the seventh round.
