Design techniques

Bruno Weber cuts the mostly folded paper with a fine cutter. Swiss woodcuts by Félix Vallotton , Emil Zbinden or Heinz Keller influenced him more than traditional paper cuttings . He uses the term paper cut for his personal style. The painting has a strong regional reference to the landscapes around the Boowald near Vordemwald. As a trained didactic specialist for works and design, he also works three-dimensionally with many other materials. Bruno Weber is one of the most famous paper cutters in Switzerland.

  • Paper cuts: Black paper cut once with a knife and folded once. The result is an almost symmetrical filigree paper net that lies just below the glass in the frame.
  • Metal  cuts : A paper cut as a template is read in, enlarged, cut from a chrome steel plate with the help of laser technology, colored and mounted free-standing.
  • Painting: Landscape pictures in watercolor or acrylic technique that are painted and finished in the wild.
  • Cut watercolors: Spontaneous watercolors and careful paper cutting are combined into a colored three-dimensional paper surface.
