Bruno von Waldeck

Bruno von Waldeck (* around 1000; † February 10, 1055 ) was Bishop of Minden from 1037 .

He was probably a younger son of Count Palatine Burchard I von Goseck . He was the royal chaplain . In 1036 he became canon of Magdeburg. In order to push back the influence of Billung, the later Emperor Heinrich III. Since he was considered to be absolutely loyal to the Empire, he was appointed Bishop of Minden in 1037. In 1042 he founded the Benedictine monastery of St. Mauritius on the Werder in the Weser before Minden between the two bridges.
