Bruschghorn is the name of the main summit of a mountain in the form of a summit ridge 2.2 kilometers in length in the Swiss canton of Graubünden : with an upswing from a good 2700 meters you first reach the “Schwarzhorn 3036 m” from the south, following the ridge with a loss of almost 40 meters 520 meters to the “Gelbhorn 3036 m”, then 1100 meters further to the Bruschghorn. Maximum loss of height from the Gelbhorn approx. 80 meters. North of the Bruschghorn, a further 680 meters leads to the nameless point 3044, without going below 3000 meters.

All peaks except the northernmost point 3044, which belongs to Safien, are on the border of the communities Safien and the Safien valley in the west and Casti-Wergenstein in Schams in the east. With the German name without "Piz" in front and the highest point far and wide, the summit is also noticeable. It should be mentioned that all the peaks around the Safiental have a German name, whereas the Bruschghorn was unimportant for the Romansh-speaking Schamser because it was so far away and still a stone desert.

Ascent

The Bruschghorn has two opposing faces: from the east from the Schams it is inconspicuous and easily accessible on a ski tour over gentle slopes; towards the west it falls in a steep wall over 1000 meters in altitude. An ascent has to be deserved: the lack of mechanical auxiliary systems makes all climbs long, but mostly lonely, especially in summer.
