Brutal Verschimmelt ( BV ) was a punk band from Kempten (Allgäu) . She released an album on Rock-O-Rama in 1983 .
history
In 1980, Carlo Kallen and school friends first founded the band Adolf Streit & die NS-Verbrecher, which first became Psychorotz and then Brutal Moldy. The first concerts took place in the Allgäu near the band B. Trug , who pulled the younger ones along as older punks. At that time B. Trug had a record deal with the punk label Rock-O-Rama from Brühl and also brokered Brutal Verschimmelt there. A demo was sent to Herbert Egoldt , who signed the band. Egoldt invited the band to Cologne in May 1983 , where they recorded their debut album in 16 hours. Egoldt himself produced the LP . A self-designed record cover with an anti-war collage was discarded by Egoldt and replaced by a skeleton warrior with a mohawk who fights against a kind of monster. The left-hand lyrics of the band were not printed in the supplement, presumably because Egoldt was already toying with the right-wing rock market at that time . The band only found out about it when their 100 free copies were sent. Then they smeared these LPs and enclosed a sheet in which they explained themselves.
Shortly after the release of the debut album, the band broke up after drummer Franz left and the band could not find a replacement. Carlo Kallen later played with the Ewings , Chili Confetti and The Usuals .
Over the years the LP has become a sought-after rarity. The album was released a second time in 1990 without the band being informed. In January 2013 a new release was released as a double LP with the title And the future is red via Höhnie Records . In addition to the album, the LP also contains the demo tape and a live recording from February 25, 1982. On the occasion of this re-issue, three of the original members decided to tour Germany for nine dates in June 2013 as Brutal Verschimmelt. Also in 2014 a tour ran until July 12th.
