Jan Egge Sedelies (born September 16, 1980 in Crivitz ) is a German journalist, presenter , musician , writer and literary organizer. He is co-organizer of the German-language Poetry Slam Championships 2017 in Hanover.

Life

Jan Egge Sedelies grew up in the towns of Eggesin and Lehrte and moved to Hanover in 2000 after graduating from the Wirtschaftsgymnasium . There he completed an apprenticeship as a publishing clerk and studied sociology, history and politics. Sedelies lived in Hanover mainly in the Linden and Limmer districts . Main occupation as a journalist for the daily newspaper Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung (HAZ), he also wrote texts “for online magazines and the political fanzine sector”. As HAZ editor, Sedelies is also responsible for editorial marketing and has been taking care of discussion forums, reader parties and the collection of donations for the HAZ Christmas aid for the Hanover region since 2012. He is married and has a stepdaughter.

In 1999 Sedelies began to organize open mics , slams and literary evenings as well as to contest themselves. He has published in numerous anthologies , made more than 400 appearances and won various prizes. Since 2004 Sedelies has been organizing the poetry slam series “Power Words!” Together with Henning Chadde, and from 2005 also gave slam training courses. In 2005 Sedelie's first volume of poetry “never so quite” was published by zeter & mordio . Moderation

Sedelies has moderated events since 2000. The political highlights included, for example, the European Festival on Opernplatz Hannover (2019), the conclusion of the Hannover 2030 participation process in the Sprengel Museum (2015) and various forums on urban society issues. In the economic field, Sedelies moderated the award ceremony for the Lower Saxony Business Prize (2015 to 2017), the Foreign Trade Prize (since 2018), the “Establishments Today” Congress (since 2017), the City of Hanover Economic Reception (2019) and various trade fairs from IdeenExpo to CeBIT. In cultural terms, Sedelies has moderated the Science Slam in Hanover since 2010, the Fährmannsfest festival since 2007 and the Book: Look im Pavillon series of non-fiction books (2011 to 2015). Sedelies led the program through the celebrations for 125 years of the Madsack media group, 130 years of the Hanover Industrial Club, 25 years of the Asphalt road magazine and 900 years of Linden. In Hanover, he regularly moderates the Car-Free Sunday, Discovery Day, the children's festival Aktion Safe Schulweg and the opening of the Christmas market.
