Bryan Phillips (born August 21, 1975 in Winnipeg , Manitoba ) is a former German- Canadian ice hockey player .

Career

The attacking player Bryan Phillips first played for the Canadian junior teams St. James Canadians and Merritt Centennials before playing for the Northern Michigan University Wildcats for four years from 1996 . In 2000 Phillips moved to Germany and joined the upper division Adendorfer EC . At the end of the season, the Oberliga Nord was dissolved and Phillips completed a few more games for the " Heidschnucken " in the Regionalliga Nord-Ost before he went to Sweden and played in the local third division for Växjö Lakers Hockey and Åmåls SK .

In the summer of 2002 Phillips returned to Germany and initially played for the upper division ERC Selb . A year later he moved to the Herford EC in the Regionalliga West. After the club had to be dissolved on December 31, 2003 due to bankruptcy , Phillips went to EC Timmendorfer Strand in the Regionalliga Nord. After a one-year stint in the 2006/07 season at the Bayern league club ECDC Memmingen , Phillips moved to the Hanover Indians in 2007 .

With the Indians, Phillips became champions of the Oberliga Nord in 2009 and made it to the 2nd Bundesliga with his team . In the 2009/10 season Phillips completed 34 second division games and scored six goals. A serious knee injury forced him to retire before the start of the 2010/11 season. From 2010 to 2012 Phillips coached the Hanover Braves in the Oberliga Nord.
