Brychius elevatus is a beetle from the family of water treaders (Haliplidae).

features

The beetles reach a body length of 4 millimeters. Her body is pale yellow in color. The head is narrower than the pronotum , both are dense and finely structured. The wing covers are elongated ovate and wider than the pronotum. Dark stripes of dots can be seen on them, the third space has a longitudinal keel, the fifth and seventh unite just before the middle to form a common space. The legs are thin, the tarsi long.

Occurrence and way of life

The species is common in northern and central Europe. It occurs only locally and rarely in Central Europe. The animals live in slow flowing streams.
