Bryoria fuscescens is a species of lichen belonging tothe Parmeliaceae family of mushrooms .
description
The species is a brown shrub lichen . The camp is 5 to 15 centimeters long (often only up to 3 centimeters in regions with polluted air), bushy to beard-like and made up of branched, stem-round, light to black-brown threads. It rests on the bark or sticks out. The threads have a diameter of up to 0.5 millimeters and are branched. There are mostly sorals present, these can also be absent in poorly developed or young specimens. They are wart-shaped to columnar and up to 0.7 millimeters in size. There are also very rare apothecaries .
Occurrence
Bryoria fuscescens grows on deciduous and coniferous trees with acidic bark , for example birch, or on trees whose bark has been acidified by air pollutants.
