Bučina (cabbage forest)
The Bučina (German: Buchwald ) is a dense forest area on a ridge between Výhledy (German: Oberkunreuthberg ) and Zelená hora (German: Grünberg ) in the Výhledská vrchovina (German about: Oberkunreuther Bergland ), west of the town of Cheb (German: Eger ) in Karlovarský kraj (German: Region Karlsbad ) in the Czech Republic .
geography
The ridge consists of several elevations around the U Bažantnice (German: Fasanerie , 568 m). Through the forest area which flows on the western edge Výhledský Potok or Bučinský Potok (: German Buchbach ) to Ohře (German: Eger ) and on the northern edge run the dam Skalka and II class road 606. Schirnding to Cheb.
Tourist development
On the eastern edge, from the abandoned village of Horní Pelhřimov (German: Oberpilmersreuth ), a path runs past the memorial for the former pilgrimage church of St. Anna to the forest by the television tower and on to the Bismarck tower on the Zelená hora.
history
The forest used to serve as a source of raw materials for the city of Eger and the former coal piles of iron smelting in Arzberg .
