Buba Corelli (born September 22, 1989 in Sarajevo ; real name Amar Hodžić ) is a Bosnian rapper, songwriter and producer.
biography
As a youth, Amar Hodžić began writing rap lyrics with a friend. When his cousin died in 2004, they took this as an opportunity to record their first song. They called themselves Koreli , from which his later rap name Buba Corelli was derived, and they performed in the clubs of their hometown Sarajevo. He later also made recordings with the rapper Memo, before temporarily retiring from music.
From 2009 he started a new attempt at Group G-Rekordz and made the acquaintance of Jasmin Fazlić from Blant Bajlon, known as Jala Brat . In 2011 he had his first local hit with Oh No . With Dižite upaljače and Nevina he had further successes. 2013 followed the first joint hit with Jala Brat under the title Kalashnikov . In the same year they brought out the album SA Sin City together . Both also performed throughout Bosnia-Herzegovina.
At the beginning of 2014, Buba Corelli published the song Grijeh together with the rapper erzielus , which received over 6 million views on the video platform YouTube . The second album Pakt sa Đavolom with Jala was also very successful. With the musician Rasta and the song Habibi, he increased his YouTube balance to 34 million clicks. He was then arrested for a drug offense and was imprisoned until May 2016.
With Jala he not only made his own recordings, they also founded a production company called Imperia and worked and wrote for other performers such as Milan Stanković and Maya Berović . For Berović they produced the song To me radi , which had 54 million YouTube views. The song became popular in numerous European countries and also made Jala and Buba internationally known. In 2017 she worked with the Austrian rapper RAF Camora , and her single Nema bolje made it into the Austrian charts . In their homeland they fill halls with 15,000 spectators and they also have their appearances in Serbia and Croatia.
