Earnest Ray "Bubba" Bean (* 26. January 1954 in Kirbyville , Texas ) is a former American American football poker players who spent his entire career, but only three seasons with the Atlanta Falcons in the National Football League ( NFL) played in the running back position.

Early years

Bean played for the college football team of Texas A & M University . In four years he ran 2,846 yards for the team .

NFL

Bean was selected ninth in the first round of the 1976 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons . In his first season he ran 428 yards in 128 attempts. He missed the entire 1977 season with a knee injury . In 1978 he ran 707 yards in 193 attempts, in 1979 it was 393 yards in 88 attempts. For the 1980 season , he was finally replaced by running back William Andrews , who had been committed a year earlier , also due to another knee injury. Bean never played a game in the NFL again. In 1982 he announced his final resignation. In total, he scored eight touchdowns in the NFL, six of which were run, two after attempts to pass.
