The Buchberg , formerly Jonsdorfer Buchberg, is a flat conical mountain on the northern edge of the Zittau Mountains at 652 m above sea level. The Buchberg is completely forested. While the mountain drops steeply to the east and north, it tapers relatively flat to the south and forms a double peak with the Sonneberg (627 m) adjoining to the west.
Location and surroundings
The Buchberg rises to the west above the village of Jonsdorf and east of the town of Waltersdorf . The road from Jonsdorf to Waltersdorf runs on the northern slope of the mountain. To the south of the mountain there is a high moor , which represents the headwaters of the Zwittebach . At the southeast foot of the mountain springs to the book Nonnenfelsen of Poche Bach . To the northwest lies the Butterberg (507 m).
Paths to the summit
- Possible starting points for the ascent to the summit are hiking trails, which mostly lead from Jonsdorf towards the summit. There is no hiking trail directly over the summit.
