Buddy Myers
Louis John "Buddy" Myers (born May 14, 1906 in Richmond , Virginia , † July 25, 1967 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American sound engineer .
Life
Myers began his career in 1929 and worked on several films each year through 1942. This continued even after the end of the Second World War ; Most of his films were, however, to be assigned to the genre of B-movie . In the late 1950s he was involved in major film productions, including A Kiss Before Death, based on the novel by Ira Levin and Red Dust . For the latter film he was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Sound in 1957 . Myers died in 1967 at the age of 1961; his last film, Doctor Dolittle , came out posthumously .
