Buer

Buer is a ghost named in the Pseudomonarchia Daemonum , a grimoire of the 16th century, as well as in its derivatives; there he is referred to as the "Great Chairman of Hell" ( Præses magnus ), at the same time he is the "Commander-in-Chief of fifty legions of demons " ( Quinquaginta legionum habet imperium ). It should appear when the sun is in Sagittarius . Buer teaches natural and moral philosophy, logic, and the effects of herbs and plants. He also heals all ailments, especially those of men, and provides good guardian spirits.

He has been described as a being in the shape of the Sagittarius of the Zodiac, who represents a centaur with a bow and arrow. In addition, Louis Breton designed a representation of Buer, which was later engraved by M. Jarrault, showing him with a lion's head and five goat legs that encircle his body and enable him to walk in any direction.

This drawing was used for several album and single covers of various metal bands, such as B. Wrong Eye / Scope by the British band Coil , the Black Sabbath - Bootleg Buer album or the album The Definitive Part One by the band Cloven Hoof .
