The change to the manufacture of computer peripherals took place in July 1981 with the PROM writer RPP-01. In September 1990 the logistics department was outsourced as KK Buffalo Butsuryū ( 株式会社 バ ッ フ ァ ロ ー 物流 ). In August 1995 the shares were listed in the 2nd division ("medium-sized companies") of the Tokyo Stock Exchange and in September of the following year they were promoted to the 1st division ("large companies").

In July 1996, the KK Melco Techno School ( 株式会社 メ ル コ テ ク ノ ス ク ー ル ) was founded to conduct training on computer manufacturing and in August 1999, KK Melco Finance ( 株式会社 メ ル コ フ ァ イ ナ ン ス ) was founded for trading in securities. In January 1998 TechWorks (Delaware), Inc.
