Bow ramp

The bow ramp is a loading ramp on the bow of a watercraft .

A bow ramp enables people to step on and off the board, pass vehicles or load and unload rolling goods . It is used on landing boats , car ferries , passenger ships and work ships . Vehicles equipped with a bow flap are sometimes referred to as bow jetties or so-called headlanders .

For some years now, lifeboats with bow ramps have also been put into service. They enable the effortless recovery of people and objects, the transport of bulky objects and facilitate the use of divers .
