The Bumping Lake is a dammed and enlarged natural lake on the Bumping River in Yakima County in the US state of Washington .
The lake is used as storage for the Yakima Project, an irrigation project run by the United States Bureau of Reclamation . Although it is of natural origin, its volume and drainage are regulated by the Bumping Lake Dam , an 18 m high earth dam that was built in 1910 and modified in the 1990s. Its current storage capacity is 41.6 million m³. The catchment area is 180 km².
