The Bund Deutscher Holzwirte (BDH) is the nationwide professional association of woodworkers . It also functions as an alumni network .

history

The basis of the Bund Deutscher Holzwirte is based on the study of wood management, which has existed since 1939 and was first carried out by the Reich Institute for Foreign and Colonial Forestry in Reinbek Castle and from 1946 by the University of Hamburg . On June 22, 1950, the graduates of the second year of diplomas then founded the Bund Deutscher Holzwirte. Since 1976, the study has been ensured by the University of Hamburg and the Johann Heinrich von Thünen Institute , formerly the Federal Research Institute for Forestry and Wood Management , in Lohbrügge at the Center for Wood Management .

purpose

The purpose of the Bund Deutscher Holzwirte is "to promote the wood industry through the exchange of professional knowledge and experience as well as by cultivating personal ties among its members, promoting the professional advancement of its members and providing education and information about studying the wood industry."
