Federal Working Group Work and Life
ARBEIT UND LEBEN is an institution for political youth and adult education and, with the exception of Baden-Württemberg , is supported equally by the German Trade Union Federation (DGB), its member unions and the adult education centers . Both partners founded this form of institutional cooperation as a joint working group in 1948. The seat of the association is in Wuppertal .
WORK AND LIFE wants to contribute to the development of people's work and life according to the premises of social justice , equal opportunities and solidarity with the aim of a democratic culture of participation . With educational offers, opportunities are to be created to impart knowledge to people, to encourage judgment and to encourage social participation.
With national organizations in 15 of 16 federal states and around 150 local and regional institutions as well as a federal working group as a joint umbrella association, ARBEIT UND LEBEN is present throughout Germany and reaches around 300,000 young people and adults of all ages with its offers every year .
